Cardinal Tien Hospital Case

Case from Cardinal Tien Hospital, Xindian (63-year-old male)
The patient was originally scheduled for surgery four days after admission via the emergency department. However, due to clinical deterioration caused by rib fractures, the surgery was performed earlier than planned. This case illustrates how patient movement led to intercostal artery injury, resulting in a hemothorax.
In the past, rib fractures were often underestimated, leading to increased clinical risks. Today, with the availability of OCEAN’s rib fixation plates, patients can experience significantly reduced complications and achieve earlier return to daily activities and work.
